If there is one thing you should definitely know about me is that I love books more than anything (even more than people, sometimes). I love to read, and I will always bring a book with me everywhere. With that being said, books can get expensive at times, and let's be real... I am just a college student whose spending habits need to slow down a bit. This is why, I want to share with you a few tips and tricks on how to spend less and enjoy this ultimate hobby or lifestyle to the extreme. Let's begin!
#1 MAKE A WISHLIST
If you don't mind ebooks, this is a great way to get those books you are dying to read for a cheaper price. I know that many readers use Goodreads as a way to keep track of the books they are most interested in. However, It is very helpful to maintain a wishlist on either your phone ( works best if you have an android), kobo, or kindle as well. Ebook prices change all the time! A book may be $13.99 one day and the next one it could go on a discount and be $1.99. Check weekly and you will be able to take advantage of these great deals and opportunities.
#2 DO NOT BUY A NEW RELEASE THE DAY IT COMES OUT
It happens to the best of us. Especially If it is the next book to a series you have probably been waiting a whole year to get your hands on! You are just dying to know what happens next because that first book left off in such a cliffhanger. UGH. Well, you better restrain yourself.
I've learn from past experience that it is better if you wait. I am only saying this because bookstores will usually have new releases up to 40% off two weeks after the book has been released. Another tip would be to pre-order it online, most of the time you can get a good discount on it as well.
